I've been a member of the Potter's Studio since 2005. My first introduction to pottery was through taking Saturday morning classes at the Studio.... it was a Christmas gift. It has been a gift that has kept on giving.
I immediately enjoyed working with the medium and gravitated towards hand-building and use of texture. This continues to be a defining element in my work - I like my pieces to be tactile.
I prefer to work with a dark clay body and gear my glazing towards highlighting the textures. I also on occasion introduce stained glass into my work.
I find that potting is a great creative outlet for me. Seeing my finished pieces come out of the kiln still gives me a rush.
