A perfectly good reason and opportunity to dirty my hands.
In 2001, I took classes at the Potter’s Studio in Toronto, while still working, and learned techniques and interacted with teachers and other potters. I enjoyed the idea of creating ceramic pieces, whether hand built or wheel thrown, and became a member of the Potter’s Studio in 2004.
Since retirement in December 2008, I now have extra time to devote to the craft and growth in pottery. Pieces are primarily hand built using textures to emboss surfaces and are individually crafted which allows each piece to be unique reflecting my artistic interests. The result is one-of-a-kind decorative and functional pieces for use, display or gift giving.
